Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

At Rithm, we believe your data belongs to you. We've built our application with a local-first architecture that keeps your information on your device, not on our servers.

Our Privacy-First Approach

Rithm is designed to run locally on your machine. Your tasks, projects, and workflow data are stored on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. We don't have access to your work, and we don't want it.

API Keys and Credentials

When you use Rithm with AI providers like Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (Codex), or Google (Gemini), you provide your own API keys. These keys are:

  • Stored locally on your device only
  • Never transmitted to Rithm servers
  • Used directly to communicate with the AI providers
  • Billed directly to your account with each provider

We never see, store, or have access to your API keys or the content of your conversations with AI providers.

Analytics

We use Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service, to understand how Rithm is used. Aptabase is designed to be GDPR-compliant and privacy-focused. The analytics we collect include:

  • Basic usage statistics (e.g., which features are used)
  • App version and platform information
  • Crash reports to help us fix bugs

Aptabase does not collect personally identifiable information, does not use cookies, and does not track users across applications. All data is anonymized and aggregated.

Third-Party Services

When you connect Rithm to AI providers, your interactions are governed by those providers' privacy policies:

We recommend reviewing these policies to understand how each provider handles your data.

Support Communications

If you contact us through our support form, we collect your name, email address, and message content solely to respond to your inquiry. We use Resend to process support emails. We don't use this information for marketing purposes or share it with third parties.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data beyond support communications, there's very little we store about you. However, you have the right to:

  • Request access to any personal data we may have
  • Request deletion of your data from our support systems
  • Opt out of analytics by disabling telemetry in the app settings

Data Security

Your local data is as secure as your device. We recommend:

  • Keeping your operating system and Rithm updated
  • Using strong passwords and device encryption
  • Being cautious with your API keys

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll notify you of any significant changes through the app or our website.
